The Home Place Inn

Built in 1915 by esteemed local merchant Parmenas Orr, our lovingly restored inn offers a timeless escape steeped in history and character.

From gleaming hardwood floors to authentic period furnishings, every detail preserves the original ambiance of this treasured home. You'll find family heirlooms throughout—antique furniture, vintage photographs, and stunning oil paintings created by Orr family descendants—all proudly displayed to share our story.

Nestled in the heart of Kensington, PEI — a perfect home base for walkers and cyclists exploring the scenic Confederation Trail.

Relax like it's 1915 on the spacious front verandah, perfect for unwinding with a book or savoring a quiet moment in the fresh air.

Once inside you will be drawn to the parlour room.  Enjoy an afternoon tea or cuddle up and read your favorite book. The grand stairwell and woodwork alone will capture your attention.

The  restored home features five bedrooms. Conveniently located on the main floor, you will find 'John Wilfred's' room, which features a king size bed, satellite TV and a modern private bathroom with step in shower.

There also a spacious and bright dining room and two sitting rooms.

On the second floor you will find four additional bedrooms, each with a private en suite.

Don’t be surprised if you see an odd crooked wall or a little slant in a floor, these heritage features bring alive the character of the Inn. What you will find is a clean, comfortable accommodation with lots of room inside and centrally located for easy access to many beaches, restaurants and attractions.

Whether you're here for business or a leisurely getaway, we invite you to experience the warmth and nostalgia of a true “home place.” Your stay with us isn’t just a visit—it’s a memory in the making.
